The Skilled
Journal will be a "Best Practice" journal covering all seven sectors
of Geoscience. The readership is expected to be people interested
in the thinking and methods of how a particular job is done, for
instance how to conduct a safety audit on a rig, or pitfalls of
interpreting a certain geophysical data set. How to measure oriented
drill core. Which logging packages work best. How to manage geochemical
quality control. When to use certain isotope tracers. How to monitor
a leak from a tailings dam into the water table. How to select a
digitising application and so on. The writers will be experts, or
at least those with experience to share. Many will be consultants.
Hopefully some will just be experienced field people who have just
learned to do something exceptionally well.

not more than 2000 words and not contain more than 3 figures or
pictures.
